In this post I will tell you how you can connect to your pc remotely using chrome remote desktop
Firstly lets talk about what is Chrome remote desktop?
Chrome Remote Desktop is a free remote desktop software developed by Google that allows users to remotely access and control another computer through a Chrome browser or a Chromebook. It offers a simple and easy-to-use interface, making it an ideal solution for individuals, small businesses, and IT professionals who need to access a computer remotely from a different location. With Chrome Remote Desktop, you can access files, run applications, and troubleshoot problems on a remote computer as if you were sitting in front of it. It's a reliable and secure way to stay connected to your work or personal computer from anywhere in the world.
Let's begin
Step 1 - Open chrome browser in your pc.
Step 2 - search for "chrome remote desktop"
Step 3 - Click on the first link shown on the above page.Step 4 - As you can see in the above image there are 2 options
Access my computer - It is used if you want to access your another computer from the current computer you are working on.
Share my screen - It is used if you want some other computer to access your current computer.
Lets Install and setup Chrome remote desktop
Step 1 - Click on "Access my computer" button.
Step 2 - A page will load like the one shown below.
Step 3 - As you can see there is a prompt in bottom right corner asking you to install Chrome remote desktop
Step 4 - Click on the install button shown on the prompt.
It will install Chrome remote desktop on your pc and unlocks some more features.
A desktop icon will be created after installing, double click on that to open it.
Page shown below will open.
Step 5 - Under Set up remote access click on Turn on button, it will a name for your computer, type any name you want and click next as shown in image below.
Step 6 - On the next page it will ask for a pin, set a suitable pin and click start.
Now, you will be able to see your computer on the dashboard with the status online as shown below.
Now your computer is ready to be accessed from another computer or ready to being accessed by another computer.
Step 1 - Click on Remote support option shown on the left side of the screen.
Now lets talk about how you can connect to another computer.
Go to the computer you want to access remotely and do the steps below.
Step 1 - Click on generate code button as shown in the above image.
It will generate an access code for you.
Come back to your current computer
Step 1 - Under the Connect to your computer enter the access code you have just generated in your another machine and click connect.
Now you are connected to your another computer remotely and you can access your another computer just like a normal computer.
